Chinese Text to Speech vs Accent Generator vs Speech to Text
Search results for Chinese voice tools mix several different products. Text to speech reads text aloud. Speech to text writes down what you say. A translator voice converts speech between languages. An accent generator changes how a voice sounds. This page sorts them out and says plainly which of them this reader is.

Speech to text on the website
The website has a separate voice-to-text mode: record with your microphone and get text back.
Switch from the text-to-speech tab to the speech-to-text tab on the main page, pick a language such as Chinese (Mandarin), English, Japanese or Korean, and record. Microphone permission is required, and the recording is processed online. This is separate from the reading features and is not part of the Chrome extension.
About accent generators
This reader does not imitate or generate accents. It reads Chinese text in a standard Mandarin voice.
A text to speech reader and an accent generator look similar because both produce a voice, but they solve different problems. This reader has a female and a male Mandarin voice and no accent settings. If a site promises to make an English voice sound Chinese, check what it actually does before you rely on it.
If you need something else
Look for a tool that names your task and language explicitly: voice translation, Cantonese TTS, or pronunciation scoring.
This reader focuses on listening to Chinese text, following it with pinyin, and saving an MP3. It does not score pronunciation, translate speech, or provide Cantonese. Use it where it fits and another tool where it does not.
